Memory Challenge

So...I was thinking the other day. Why does Beth Moore get to have all of the fun? I subscribe to the LPM blog that Beth Moore offers and it has been so uplifting and wonderful...but the other day I was thinking, "I can do that." Now, by no means do I want to discredit or minimize the efforts of Beth Moore and her amazing ministry, I am one who has been served through her faithfulness to the Lord. BUT, I wanted to see if I could try and do something similar to what she is doing. (Is that ok?)

So..if there are any women interested...I am going to work on memorizing scripture and I would like you to join me. I'm going to start with two a month right now...so every 2 weeks or so I'm going to have a new verse to memorize (or attempt to memorize). I may make use of Beth Moore's blog and see the verses they are working on...but the neat concept is that within a year we are looking to have 24+ verses memorized! You may choose the translation you'd prefer to memorize, NIV is very common but sometimes the NASB can be easier and the NKJ or KJV can be really powerful too! I'd encourage you to take a look at multiple versions to see what God may lead you to.

Scripture says, that "the Word of God is living and active, sharper than a double-edged sword." We have awesome power...It is not just men that can carry a sword! Get your Word on, girls!

So if you are interested, I will be posting a note, every two weeks to inform you of the new verse to focus on. To start, the verse we are going to work on is what was referenced before,

Hebrews 4:12

"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing sould and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (NIV)

I know it may seem like a lot but I know we can do it. Do whatever it may take to get this verse embedded into your mind and heart. Notecards of the verse all over the house, on a mirror, constantly reading the verse, quoting it in daily situations (even if it is just part of the verse), etc. There is something BIG that God wants to do in our lives through His word...let us not miss out!

Thanks to all who may read this and join in.

Blessings,

Lesley
